1. Bend Brewing Company

One of the OGs in town, Bend Brewing Company, has one of the most enviable locations right on the Deschutes River.

The outdoor picnic tables are always buzzing, especially on weekends, and it’s the perfect stop while exploring downtown. Inside, it’s spacious and relaxed, and multiple bars help keep the lines moving.

This place is always a vibe, and their Tropic Pines IPA is a crisp, flavorful standout. It’s family-friendly, dog-friendly, and generally just people-friendly—a classic Bend staple that’s only gotten better over time.

2. The Ale Apothecary

This tiny spot has a cult following for a reason. Specializing in wild-fermented and sour beers, The Ale Apothecary is where you go to taste something totally out of the ordinary.

We tried their flagship and another beer filtered through spruce—yeah, actual spruce—and it was surprisingly balanced and complex.

The space is small and cozy with a serious artisanal flair. If you’re a fan of natural fermentation, wild ales, and funky flavor combos, this is a must-visit. Just don’t expect a full pub setup—it’s all about the beer here.

3. Worthy Brewing

Worthy is a behemoth of a brewery with a huge two-story space, loads of seating, and even a “hopservatory”—yes, a legit garden-meets-observatory space in the back.

This is on the east side location, and it’s the full package: science-y vibes, family-friendly spaces, and dialed-in beers.

They’ve really leveled up their brews over the past few years, and the Strata IPA is one of our go-to’s. If you’re into experimental setups and wide-open patios with a touch of green, this is your jam.

4. Spider City Brewing

Bend’s only women-owned brewery and one of the coolest spots to grab a hazy.

The vibe is industrial-chic with a community table setup inside what feels like an old warehouse near the railroad. Food trucks keep things interesting, and the beer? Top notch.

Their Deer Garden Hazy IPA is a tropical explosion—papaya, mango, citrus—and definitely one of the best hazies in town. No frills here, just great beer and a place that feels genuine.

5. The Cellar

A dark, cozy British-style pub located underground—The Cellar is the real deal for anyone craving classic English ales.

You’ll find hand-pumped cask-conditioned real ales served at cellar temps in imported beer engines. Nerdy? Yes. Delicious? Absolutely.

Their porters and bitters are rich, smooth, and deeply flavorful. It’s a small space, but that adds to the authentic, intimate feel. Grab an imperial pint and settle in—you’re not going to find another place like this in Bend.

6. Sunriver Brewing

Always consistent, always satisfying. Sunriver Brewing has a killer food menu and a nice indoor-outdoor setup that makes it perfect for any season.

Located just south of downtown (with another location in Sunriver proper), it’s a crowd-pleaser every time.

Rippin NW Pale Ale is one of our favorites—hops galore with dank, peppery, citrusy notes. Whether you’re here for a bite, a flight, or a little of both, Sunriver’s got something for everyone.

7. Van Henion Brewing

Tucked away a bit off the beaten path, Van Henion is a hidden gem with a clean, minimalist German-style vibe.

The team behind it includes former Boneyard brewers, and it shows in the quality. This spot is located in Boneyard’s old production facility, and the legacy lives on.

They keep things simple—just five beers on tap—but each one is solid gold. It’s a peaceful place to escape the chaos of downtown, sip a perfectly crafted lager, and recharge.

8. Crux Fermentation Project

Crux is a bit of a Bend brewery landmark, with a huge outdoor lawn, rotating food trucks, and beer nerds everywhere.

The open-air design lets the inside and outside blend together, and you can even peek at the brewing setup inside.

Crux thrives on creativity, offering a constantly changing lineup of experimental beers. It’s definitely more touristy than some others, but it earns the hype—especially with a pint in hand while the sun sets over the mountains.

9. Deschutes Brewery Bend Public House

The oldest and most iconic brewery in Bend, Deschutes is the original trendsetter. Their downtown pub is massive and lively, with a solid food menu that draws just as many hungry folks as thirsty ones.

The classics like Black Butte Porter and Mirror Pond Pale Ale are everywhere, but we recommend diving into the limited and seasonal releases.

Even if you’ve had their flagship beers before, it’s worth swinging by to try something exclusive on tap. It’s Deschutes—there’s a reason they’ve been around so long.

10. Silver Moon Brewing

Silver Moon brings the events and the energy. It’s the third-oldest brewery in Bend and still feels like a local hangout.

The indoor space leans divey, while the outdoor patio has fire pits and live music. Sunday bingo, beer tastings, trivia—you name it, they host it.

Their limited releases are where it’s at. The flagships are fine, but the seasonal stuff really shows off their creativity. It’s not the fanciest brewery in town, but it’s definitely one of the most fun.

11. Bevel Craft Brewing

This disk golf-themed brewery is smaller, more local, and less touristy than many in Bend, with a cozy vibe and fire pits out front.

A couple food trucks hang around for snacks, and the beers are straight-up stellar.

Everything we’ve tried here has been impressively well done. You can tell it’s passion-driven, not profit-driven. A great place to escape the buzz and just enjoy a damn good beer.

12. Boneyard Brewery

A Bend classic, Boneyard started as a tiny, no-frills shack with barely any room to stand—let alone sit.

It’s still a tasting-only location, but for the full experience (and a seat), head to their newer spot in North Bend, which pairs Asian-inspired dishes with their beloved brews.

You can’t leave without trying the Boneyard RPM, Diablo Rojo, or Hop Venom. These beers helped put Bend on the beer map and still hold up as local legends.

13. Monkless Belgian Ales Brasserie

Belgian beer lovers, this one’s for you. Monkless is perched on the second story above the river with a massive patio and killer views. Inside is airy and elegant, with long communal tables and a polished bar setup.

Their beer menu is entirely Belgian-style, and they absolutely nail it. The food is Bavarian-inspired—not always our favorite—but that beer, especially on a warm afternoon on the patio? Chef’s kiss.
